November's New Moon takes place in the adventurous, idealistic zodiac sign of Sagittarius. Symbolized by the Centaur, the courageous explorer who embodies optimism, independence and a quest for wisdom, Sagittarius thinks big and has endless possibilities in sight.
Sagittarian energy fills the air in the few weeks that lead up to Christmas, bringing inescapable busyness but with it, that undeniable sense of joy, enthusiasm and togetherness as we get together and socialize in the spirit of the season.
With Jupiter, ruler of Sagittarius and planet of growth, faith, good fortune and abundance in its last week of the same sign before moving into structured Capricorn, we're gifted with an auspicious opportunity to set our wildest dreams into motion.
Adventure and a search for meaning lie at the heart of this sign. When you envision your ideal life, what does it look like for you, your loved ones and your wider community? If you could reach for your bow and arrow and point it in the direction of your wildest dreams, where would you point it, which direction would you go in?
This New Moon in Sagittarius asks us to think big and trust that our dreams are within reach. Light a blue, red or purple candle and before your inner critic has a chance to kick in, take out your notebook and list everything you'd like to see, do or be in life. In your perfect vision of reality, what time would you wake up, who with, what do you eat for breakfast, where do you go for work, what does your house look like, what do you wear? And so on until you've created your perfect day.
Don't worry about taking practical action - that's for Capricorn's New Moon at the end of the year. For now, Sagittarius is asking to dream big, to not hold back, to visualize and believe that our desires for life are within reach.
Create an altar in a safe space and place your list here. Meditate and feel your intentions. Adorn the altar with Sagittarius symbols and 'correspondences', objects that have a natural affinity with the sign:
Colours: purple, royal blue, red, orange
Herbs/garden: Honeysuckle, rosemary, sage, ginger, nutmeg, mugwort
Stones: amethyst, tourmailine, jasper, sodalite, turquoise, zircon
Next month will be about practical action we can take to draw the dreams into reality.
