New Moons are typically a time for setting intentions and initiating forward motion as the Moon begins to wax and gain in strength. This month's Pisces New Moon however has a different tone than usual. Not only are we in the midst of a Mercury retrograde cycle but the Sun, Moon and rewinding Mercury are in conjunction, with these planets all lined up together, the overall vibe of this Moon phase is yin, subtle and hazy.
Soulful Pisces attunes to our dreams and emotions, calling us to dissolve our boundaries and to give way, to not push and force but to embrace the fluid mysteries of the tides as they greet us and as they depart.
In Greek mythology, the two fish of Pisces relate to Aphrodite and her son Eros who tied themselves together, transformed themselves into fish and leaped into the river to escape the clutches of the deadly monster, Typhon. Symbolizing the capacity of Pisces to surrender, to leap into the unknown and immerse with something bigger than themselves, having faith in the Universe.
This magical window asks us to just be, to accept there’s much we can’t perceive and to relish in the pure magic of being alive in this very moment.
Suggestion: Create an altar in a safe space. Meditate and feel your intentions. Adorn the altar with Pisces symbols and 'correspondences', objects that have a natural affinity with the sign:
Colours: Blue, green, indigo, silver
Herbs/garden: Sage, aloe, water lily, clove, nutmeg, lily, gardenia, lavender
Stones: Amethyst, aquamarine, jade, turquoise, blue lace agate
